Important COVID-19 updates and information on what to do to protect yourself, your family, and the community
One of the strengths of the Davis community is our ability to come together to support our community and one another. We see it every day.
One of the strengths of the Davis community is our ability to come together to support our community and one another. We see it every day.
We know that returning to regular city activities and reintegrating UC Davis students back into the community requires collaboration and detailed planning and support from the entire community – people who live or work in Davis, city and county government, business and health care leaders, civic and faith-based organizations, and UC Davis students, faculty members, and staff members all working together.
We’re all doing our part to be more cautious and intentional about what we do, who we see, and where we go. But we must do more.
Healthy Davis Together is a joint project between the City of Davis and UC Davis with a goal to facilitate a coordinated and gradual return while preventing the spread of COVID-19 in the Davis community.
Healthy Davis Together brings together epidemiology and health promotion both in the city and on campus. We are optimistic that the combined efforts of the City of Davis, UC Davis, and each one of us will make a difference in preventing the spread of COVID-19 in our town. Together, we can keep the Davis community healthy.
Healthy Davis Together is providing the Davis community with:
Important COVID-19 updates and information on what to do to protect yourself, your family, and the community
Increased COVID-19 screening availability for all who live or work in Davis
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for personal and business use provided at no cost
Community-supported quarantine and isolation services for those needing safe shelter and assistance, including a combination of on-campus and off- campus temporary housing as well as food, medical and wrap-around services
Incentives (including local gift cards and premiums) that reward healthy practices for UC Davis students, local businesses, and community members
…and more in the coming months

The City and UC Davis together form the Davis community. If we follow state and county health guidance and take the right steps – campus- and city-wide – to prevent the spread of COVID-19, our community will thrive together.
Healthy Davis Together will take a holistic approach through precision public health, focused on epidemiology and health behavior change. The project will increase testing and contact tracing, while providing protection, resources, and support services to keep community members and students healthy.
As a City, we are fortunate that we have one of the top universities in the world right here when we need advanced public health and science practices to combat the pandemic. We are learning, studying and living this reality together, and I am heartened that we have the expertise of UC Davis and our community members to rely on during this unprecedented time.
From the beginning of this pandemic, UC Davis has been engaged in finding solutions to problems presented by COVID-19. Healthy Davis Together exemplifies the commitment of the city and university to collectively minimize the spread of COVID-19 in our community.
The collective efforts of the Davis community and the collective implementation of the knowledge and expertise about COVID-19 that we have developed at UC Davis will result in important learnings that can serve as a model approach for other communities to adapt and adopt.
It is up to us as individuals and as a community to face this challenge head on. We have the power to make a real difference. Thank you to UC Davis and the City for designing processes and plans to secure our health and our economy.
UC Davis is part of the Davis community, and we have been planning through UC Davis Campus Ready efforts to help faculty, staff and students begin the school year while staying healthy. These efforts will be augmented as part of Healthy Davis Together.
