Healthy Davis Together is working closely with Davis Joint Unified School District (DJUSD) to slow the spread of COVID-19 and keep our students, educators, and community members safe.
That’s why, in partnership with the city of Davis and UC Davis, we’ve opened a fourth COVID-19 testing site at Marguerite Montgomery Elementary School. This additional site will improve access to free, painless saliva-based testing for any individual who lives or works in Davis, as well as their immediate households.

Our work with DJUSD schools doesn’t end there. Below are all the ways we’re working together to keep Davis healthy and get us back to normal.
We’re helping schools provide free asymptomatic saliva-based tests for the students and educators involved in Phase 2 on-campus cohort learning at 12 DJUSD campuses. We are also helping the schools prepare to offer testing to students, educators, and their families at least once a week when campuses reopen for hybrid learning the week of April 12. Additionally, we are finalizing plans to provide free COVID-19 testing in partnership with several private schools in town.
We’re pairing weekly wastewater sampling with manual swabs of school surfaces and air filters to identify school outbreaks – and the classrooms with the highest exposure — before they can spread.
We’re rolling out a symptom screening app to monitor symptoms of educators and students daily, while training educators to recognize when students are showing symptoms throughout the school day.
We’re administering a contact tracing and case investigation program while working to increase widespread adoption of the state exposure notification app, CA-Notify.
We’re providing educators with the latest information on vaccine access and reducing vaccine hesitancy through trusted messengers.
Health Communications and Education
We’re raising awareness and adherence to COVID-19 behavior guidelines and aligning incentives to encourage our students and educators to follow them.
We’re increasing ventilation and purification of classroom air by installing air filters and purifiers while cleaning and disinfecting commonly-used surfaces daily.
