Connection
If two people have CA Notify on their smartphones and they come in contact with each other for 15 minutes or more, their phone will exchange anonymized keys (randomly generated numbers) that log the close interaction.
Notifications
If one person then tests positive for COVID-19 and chooses to report their positive test through the exposure notification services, the other will receive an alert that they have been exposed. The notification will include instructions for what to do next.
Privacy
CA Notify does not collect or exchange any personal information and does not track your location.
