This analysis of the Healthy Davis Together program by Mathematica researchers provides evidence of the program’s effectiveness in improving the health and economy of the Davis community and underscores the value of a public health strategy that combines epidemiological infectious disease control approaches and behavior change interventions to mitigate future pandemic and outbreak threats.
The evaluation found that Healthy Davis Together reduced COVID-19 case counts in Davis by 60 percent, avoided 4,144 cases of COVID-19 and 275 COVID-19 related hospitalizations, and averted 35 COVID-19 related deaths during a 16-month period from October 2020-January 2022.
