Keynote Address:
Dr. Eric Goosby, Professor of Medicine, University of California, San Francisco
Dr. Goosby is an internationally recognized expert on infectious diseases and worked at the center of the HIV epidemic as it blossomed in San Francisco in the 1980s. He was the founding director of the Ryan White CARE Act in 1991, and as global AIDS coordinator under President Barack Obama, he was responsible for implementing the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). He also served as the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy on Tuberculosis. Dr. Goosby is a member of the National Academy of Medicine, professor of medicine at UCSF, and a former member of President Biden’s COVID-19 Advisory Board. He is an experienced cross-sector collaborator who has and continues to effectively integrate academic expertise and resources into the public realm.
